    Currently in Nigeria, commercial rabbit farming has become a great source of income and employment. This particular animal is known as Micro-Livestock. In Nigeria, rabbit has become a great source of food production. One good thing about rabbit farming is that the animal does not actually require a large place for living and they just need less food for surviving. This particular livestock animal meat contains high ratio of protein, energy, calcium and vitamin compare to any other types of livestock meat. Compare to other animal meat, rabbit meat has low cholesterol, fat and sodium. Starting a commercial rabbit farming can be very profit if it is done in a proper way. On this article we are going to look at the 7 different types of rabbit breeds in Nigeria. The following are the 7 different types of rabbit breeds in Nigeria;

    1. The Jack rabbit breed: Compare to other breed, the Jack rabbit breed do not build or make their nests. The mother of this particular breed normally locates a place for her pleasure. Below is the image of the Jack rabbit breed.

    2. The Dutch rabbit breed: This particular rabbit breed is one of the most common rabbit breed found not just only in Nigeria, but all over the continent. This particular breed is not a really big rabbit breed but is mostly hunted for meat by rabbit hunters. The Dutch rabbit breed can be easily identify by is color.     3. The New Zealand rabbit breed: The New Zealand rabbit breed is actually one of the biggest rabbit breed. Actually this breed is really available in 4 to 5 colors, which are red, white, blue, black, and also sometimes rough.
